When does Office 365 expire for the 5 user plan?

One of the O365 plans can have up to 5 users. My question is when the license expires for each of the users in case each user activated at different times?

For example, I buy the plan on 1st Oct. I give my brother his key on 1st Dec.

So does his plan expire on 30th Sep or 30th Nov next year?

Or do all our accounts expire at the same time regardless of when they were activated?

As Office 365 is a subscription it's based on when you pay for that subscription. If it's monthly then it doesn't matter, however if it's yearly and you decide not to renew then all the licences are dead.

You're technically buying one licence.
