hi, i have to get another 1520 to replace my original one (broke the glass :( ) i went on ebay and found a baffling number of choices , some say "international" model the one i have is from att and has 16gig of storage. i went to wikipedia and they show 4 different versions with different specs. i remember when i ordered the first one from at&t there was a 32gig option for it but i diddnt get it at the time. i would like to get the 32gig version, but are they all the same? i am in the USA and use AT&T for a service. i was looking at the newer phones like the 950 XL but i feel i just need another 1520.even if i need to replace the battery i havent seen another WP that impresses me with the quality of the 1520. any help would be great, thank you.

Re: whitch 1520 to get

There should be only one AT&T version. RM-940 is the official code the AT&T variant. You will get 16GB , No Qi and the 4G bands are according the ones AT&T uses.

If you do not get an RM-940 for ATT, then look for RM-938. I would actually prefer the RM-938 which is also known as the 1520.3.

32GB internal is standard on all of them and not a rare option.

Qi wireless charging is also standard and does not require a special charging case which the ATT model needs for PMA (Power Mat) charging.

The RM-938 has what you need for radio in the US as well:
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
LTE band 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 17(700)

looking for a unlocked one, does not need to be at&t branded, sounds like the 938 is what i need, i remember when i got this one from at&t, there was an option for either 16 or 32 gig, but that was a long time ago. what is the international version ? i kind of want to find a green or orange one.

BTW, thankyou for the answers.

"International" could mean any of the other 3 variants besides ATT depending on the seller.

eBay sellers are notoriously bad at accurate listings. They simply find an entry and copy/paste when it comes to Windows Phone. Few of them seem to actually know what they have in hand.

For instance: New in Box Nokia Lumia 1520 16/32GB Unlocked Smartphone Windows Phone ALL COLORS | eBay

Says 16/32GB International. Bull snot, only the ATT had 16GB. They have a dropdown to select and only 16GB is active, 32 being greyed out. The spec is copied from GSMarena and lists radio spec for all 4 variants. They have no idea what they are selling or how to communicate what it is clearly. You might end up paying $200 for a Lumia 520 with these clowns.

This one: Nokia Lumia 1520 RM-940 - 32GB - Black (AT&T Unlocked) Smartphone New 6438158640337 | eBay

Says it is the RM-940 in the rare 32GB (32 is rare for ATT), but the picture shows a device without pogo pins. All AT&T 1520s (and ONLY ATT 1520) has three pogo pins on the back for the PMA charging cover. They also neglect to state what LTE Bands are on board. Battery capacity says 2370 mAh, yet each and every 1520 comes with 3400 mAh battery. More foolishness.

BINGO!!! Check the box. That one is legit if the pics match what is being offered. Nokia Lumia 1520.3 RM-938 RARE Smartphone 32GB 20MP Unlocked Bundled Free Ship!! | eBay

BTW... One flaw in that last listing. It comes with an Incipio PMA charging case. That doesn't do you any good. The RM-938 doesn't have the pogo pins on the back to make that work. LOL

If you get it, sell the Incipio and get a couple $$ back.

When they were still available new from stores, I only saw Yellow, White and Black (and maybe red?) for the international 1520.3 (938). I'm trying to remember if I ever say any orange 1520s in any versions. There was a version available in green but I'm pretty sure not the 1520.3.The green and/or red might have been an AT&T exclusive.

Since you are on AT&T you might want to see if there are any AT&T apps/services you would lose with a non-AT&T version to decide if those are more important than the extra memory (than most AT&T 1520s) or wireless charging. May not be any downsides but with T-Mobile for instance, you can only get WiFi calling with a T-Mobile branded phone so maybe things like that with AT&T also.

Hmmmm, how interesting. x-channel no longer has the 32GB version greyed out... Has anybody dared to order a Lumia 1520 from them recently? Did someone point out their mistake directly on eBay, so they've decided to change it? Very curious about that guy.....

LOL, you should have just inquired without explicitly mentioning if you're going to buy one or not. Either way a respectful seller would've responded.
I said I wasn't buying and just pointing out memory situation with 1520s in case he wanted to update the auction. I said I didn't want a response because, well, he would either change it or he wouldn't and it didn't matter to me since I wasn't buying one and can't do anything more than pointing it out.

FWIW I have a 1520.3 the international version. (boring black) I used it on ATT and saw no limitations, I Replaced it (as my phone) a while back with a 950. After getting the 950 I upgraded to 1520 to windows 10 (long after!) - I use the phone as a tablet now. The battery finally gave out and I purchased a "genuine oem" battery that will not charge to 100% ... Which tells me it is NOT the right battery. the old battery would still charge to 100% just wouldn't last.
