So I'm eying 3 phones from microsoft right now , the lumia 630 , an old lumia 920 and a nokia x2 . well , I'm looking for the best phone for it's price and the lumia 630 seems a bit overpriced when compared to nokia x2 (which has double ram , 2 cameras etc .) but I still do prefer the wp 8.1 experience , but I'm also considering an old lumia 920 but I don't know if I'll be getting future updates , another thing I'm worried about as well with lumia 630 . What do you guys think ?

First of all remove the Lumia 630 from your list. It has got only 512 mb ram which you will find frustrating later on because most of the apps are not available for 512 mb ram. Now Lumia 920 is a very good option even if its a 2nd hand phone, its a good device only you have to see is the phone's condition personally. Nokia x2 is an android based device with UI more like windows phone. If you want apps and more games you can buy the x2 if you want the windows phone you must go for the lumia 920 and for your info. It will be getting atleast 3 WP.1 GDRs.

Lumia 920 is anytime best choice. even if u r not getting future updates, u r still gonna get WP 8.1

Lumia 630 is definitely not a good choice. it even doesn't have a flash. if u r considering it, i will suggest u to go for 720 or 625.
X2, i am not sure. X series does look promising, and u can prefer it over 630 as it sounds worth the price.
but still, i will suggest to go for 920. it is definitely worth buying it. u r gonna get awesome piece of hardware which performs well on all aspects (except being a little heavy).

Well first i want to explain how confused I am by the pricing , I mean how does the X2 have better specs BUT cost less ?
and with the older processor I am concerned that the 920 may not get threshold while the 630 might ( but I doubt it too with the 512 mb ram )
So the question is why isn't there any low end WP with 1gb of ram which is the standard for phones today ( and don't give me the WP needs less ram argument because there are a lot of apps which function on androids with 512 ram but taek ages to be compatible with 512 ram WPs e.g subway surfers )

I am aware that the X runs android , but I really am concerned with the older processor

don't be so much in to latest tech need..
how frequent u change ur phone? if u use ur phone less than 2 years, the processors are not older for ur use.
if u r not gonna change for say 3-4 years, then buy latest, which will be by then, obsolete.
remember ur needs, don't bother the "latest tech".
latest and older are the terms brought by the phone makers to sale what they have, not what u need.
think in this way, Lumia 920 was released in late 2012, and it's gonna get update 8.1, and u can use for at least one more year with that update.
now tell me where is the older processor. it survived 2-3 years with update. and i am sure about, those who bought it at the beginning, most of them are still using it happily.

same things happen with PCs also. my old PC, which were not so fine with old Vista or XP (in my office), are working nicely with Win 7 & 8. in fact better that Vista. the processors are age old, RAM is also 1-2 GB, but the development in Windows is also to be considered, not just processors.

If those are the only three phones you're looking at right now then the 920 is without a doubt the best one. However, may I also suggest the 820? It's got similar specs to the 920 (except a slightly smaller screen) and is a rock solid alternative to it.

Not to mention exchangeable shells. But the 820 is not as solid as it looks, that I have to warn you.
