Verizon is absolutely to blame. But they have expected profit driven incentives to do it. As a long time Verizon user and long time Windows Phone user, I feel your pain.

As far as a larger screen Windows Phone on Verizon? Who knows... Hopefully the Windows 10 flagship will be on every major carrier.

It's easier on GSM carriers. You can get Unlocked phones and have a wider range to choose from because of it.
