Why am I unable to connect 4g data using my 640 LTE?

Do you mean the G switcher in settings? Wich windows and carrier you got?
How is carrier 4G coverage in your area?

your SIM has to be 4G capable, your carrier must have 4G capability and your area must also have 4G coverage
