Why is my headphones not working on L735 or L950

My headphones have been working just fine on my L735 and L950 but now they wont work on either one. When I plug them in the headphone jack the sound is coming out of the speaker and not the headphones.

As odd as it sounds, if you're having the trouble on two different phones, I'd say the problem is in the headphones.

Well I thought that as well but tried them on my friends phone (non windows phone) and my computer and they work fine.

This happened to me too on my 950. The headphones were working fine, then out of nowhere they stopped working.

My headphones worked in every single other device in my house: a Lumia 1020, Surface Pro 3, my wife's iPad. I even tested it on an old 920 and it worked.

Lumia Support's answer was "do a factory reset" or "contact the manufacturer of the headphones to see if its compatible."

Unfortunately, you will problem have to buy some new headphones.
