Why can I send emoji's but not receive them?

Emoji Issue with other OS

Not sure if this is the right place for this.
But on my new 950xl I am noticing that I can send emojis, but I cannot receive them.
They come as just squares. It's not selling my friends on Windows Mobile since we can't communicate as we normally have.

Do these friends who send you squares instead of emojis have iPhones?

Currently the ones that I have gotten are from iPhones.
Haven't tried from anyone with Android.

If you're talking about WhatsApp, the emojis were updated recently and of course it hasn't been updated on windows yet...give it a week or two

I have also noticed this lately, but on my 650 WP8+.

I have not gotten my 950XL yet, so can't say if W10M have some extra problem. But the newest update for Apple iDevices, have some new Emojis, and if they are using them, you'll see sqaures, if any. My Lumia 930 have the same problem.

If that's the case I'm hoping that it gets fixed soon. It's not helping me convince people or even myself that windows is the best mobile os with windows 10 now.
