Why can't I go back to Windows Phone 8.1 from Windows 10 Technical Preview?

Cannot go back to Windows Phone 8.1 from Windows 10 Technical Preview

I have updated my Lumia 620 to Windows 10 Technical Preview but now I want to back to Windows Phone 8.1.1.
So, I used the Windows Phone Recovery Tool 1.1.0 but after downloading the software package it always says that the installation process is failed.
Then I tried to downgrade with the Lumia Recovery Tool 5.0.7, but there I always get the error code 0x80131500.

How can I solve this problem or is there another way to downgrade?

I got this problem when I tried to downgrade the first time around with windows 10.There's a bunch of tutorials and YouTube videos about resolving the error,but none of them worked for me.

It drove me mad until eventually I had to use my brothers laptop where the tool installed no problem.His laptop runs win7,while mine is 8.1 pro.

Seems to be a problem with the compatibility of the tool on windows 8,but I cant figure it out.

That could be it. Possibly bad drivers or something like that.
I just restored my L1520 to 8.1 today using LSRT. No problems at all.

which tool do you mean?

The tool iI had problems with was the one they recommended.Think it was the windows phone recovery tool.Always failed to install.cant remember the error

I changed the laptop and yes it worked. Thanks for your help!

Your 620 went directly to 10 or passed by gdr2? I wany gdr2 if possible

Yes.
Photos, music, pretty much all your media will be lost.
Back up first.

Your 620 went directly to 10 or passed by gdr2? I wany gdr2 if possible

I originally wanted to try out if get gdr2 but no, it went directly to windows 10

I have the same problem with the lumia 928. It goes only to one drive for the back up and pickup windows phone 10 preview again. Anything else is an error message. It is impossible to go back to 8.1. Can't format the phone and reinstall 8.1. My phone has been usurped.

Microsoft has released a new version of the Windows Phone Recovery Tool today. It fixed my stone cold, bricked Lumia 925 (did not respond to keypresses nor would it charge). Maybe it will work for you.
