Why can't i mute a group on whatsapp?

Hey guys i have a Lumia 520 with wp8.1 and if i want to mute or to unmute a group on whatsapp, it starts loading (those dots on the top of the screen) and...nothing...it stays like this...loading and loading and loading. Can you help me?

close the app or try a restart. If that does not solve, try a soft reset. If that does not solve, reinstall the app.
