Why can't I play Groove music songs from USB drive?

After downloading my "free" files to PC then copying them to a USB flash drive, they won't play from my cars USB port. Why

What format are they in and what's the model number of the stereo system installed in your car?

The more information you can provide, would really help identify what the problem could be.

Not sure I understand you correct but it sounds like you are downloading songs via the groove subscription and then copying the downloaded files to USB to play in your car. If this is the case it won't work as you didn't actually buy the songs, you are just "renting" them while your subscription is active so all the files will be protected from copying / playing outside of groove.
