Why can't I see the latest backup in my restore section?

New Windows Phone, won't show latest backup in restore section

I just bought a new Lumia 1520, and I currently own a 1020. I want to transfer the backup to my 1520.

I just checked my 1020, and it was backed up 5 mins ago, however when I set up the 1520, the last update is shows is from 2013, on my old 920 - and the 1020 is nowhere to be see. I've synced, re backed up (clicked backup), and nothing shows up when I try to restore a past backup on the new 1520. I've tried to backup again and again.. even tried to delete the backup and to retry backing up then syncing my accounts - but all my older backups show, nothing new...

Is this a common issue? Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I've never had this issue before...

Make sure both are on same software version... if you were on Dev for Preview latest updated on 1020, install DfP on new phone first and then hard reset to start again.

Yes, more specifically, it is the version. If your 1020 is on WP8.1 and your 1520 is on WP8, then you won't see the updates. Just ignore the backup for the time being, and skip all of that. Update your phone with the latest update and then do a hard reset on your phone. Upon setting up your account, you should now see the recent backup and you'll be able to restore it onto your 1520.
