Why can't my Lumia 925 play the video clips on the BBC website

My phone is running windows 8.1 Denim which is up to date as of 1 minute ago.

On Internet explorer and the bbc sport app I simply get a message 'media playback is not supported on this device'

When are Microsoft going to resolve this very unsatisfactory situation?

It's maybe BBC who didn't bother to upgrade to a HTML player and still relaying on a Flash based one.
