Why did some features go bad from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10?

Windows Central Question

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 on my 640 XL. All in all it is a good upgrade, except for the phone becoming a bit slow once in a while.
However few problems I noticed.
1) While pressing back on Windows 8.1 used to close a window, on Windows 10 all the windows remain open. It has to be closed later.
2) Similarly lot of tabs remain open on the Microsoft edge browser.
3) There is not option to choose default search engine apart from Bing.
Am I missing out on some settings?

Yes, you are missing some new features

1 - back tab long press in 10 opens Task Manager as droid and iphones, so you can swipe opened apps carousel and close them sliding down. In future, will be a Close All tab- A simple tap is a simple go back
2 - Edge works as same as desktop one, tabs reopen if you close Edge with them on
3 - As desktop, you can choose engine. Write Google.com in address bar, then after google page is opened tap on settings -> Advaced -> Chage search engine

Voil?
