Network Connections disappear after Windows 10 upgrade

Windows 10 upgrade results in the Network Center not showing any network connections. The troubleshooting wizard does not detect the issue or rectify it.
There are a lot of reports on the web supposedly related to pre-installed Cisco VPN or other VPN software.

1. The Windows 10 Upgrade 'free' report should highlight this as an issue.

2. Microsoft should find a fix for this issue asap.

The downside is that without this feature, their crown jewels... Cortana and Edge do not work.
What good does it do to upgrade users with this issue festering?

A lot of devices will have some VPN software these days. Not just folks using devices for work.

CAUTION TO BUISINESS USERS... DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR DEVICES TO WINDOWS 10 UNTIL THIS IS FIXED.

I'm having the same problem. The nice new dialogue boxes worked for a couple days then disappeared. Kinda ridiculous.
