Camera Roll Sync

I just noticed that when I delete a picture from my phone, it also now deletes from OneDrive. In the past, once it was on OneDrive I could delete videos to free up space.

Has anyone else noticed this? I just lost about 4 gig of video that is no longer on my phone or OneDrive and not super happy about it.

I am running the Windows 10 insider build on my phone.

Thanks for any help...also, if anyone knows how to find those files on my phone or OneDrive that would be great.

Re: Camera Roll Sync

On OneDrive, they go into the Recycle Bin. They're not gone (yet). You can check this from the desktop site or the app pretty easily as it'll be in the sidebar.

For the phone, turn off the option to Link Duplicates if you want local and OneDrive copies managed separately.

Re: Camera Roll Sync

Great. Thank you so much. I found the file from today...how about files that I deleted a couple weeks ago? am assuming they are still on my phone somewhere as a hidden file. They were taken on my phone and deleted to free up space. I did have the Link Duplicates option turned on and it's now turned off.

Re: Camera Roll Sync

If the files had been synced up to OneDrive, they'll be in the recycle bin there.

As for on your phone, they're likely destroyed by now as deleting the file sets a bit in the filesystem that allows the data to be over-written by other files.

Check OneDrive's recycle bin.
