Why do sleeves advertised for Lumia 640 XL not fit ? ?

I purchased a 640 XL for my wife. I ordered a case listed for that model ( not 640 but 640 XL). The case was lovely but was too tight to be able to remove the phone without risk and the phone stuck out the top.

I ditched that one. Did not bother for a refund as this was to be a surprise.

I ordered a totally different design from another seller, who only showed this case suitable for a 640 XL and no other models. It was so small that the phone switched on or off every time it was inserted and the top stuck out so the closing strap could not be used. It is going back for refund.

Are there different sizes of Lumia 640 XL ? This is driving me nuts.

The Lumia 640 XL only comes in one size. You'll have to actually check with the seller if the case/sleeve was actually designed for the 640 XL or a generic device instead. Most of these cases are manufactured in bulk based on outdated reference designs in mind. A bad reference design might have caused this to happen. Regardless you should return the product and ask for a refund.
