Why does my Nokia lockup

I cannot slide down or up the window

There can be a few suspect causes to that, including:
1. Intermittent phone lag - especially when the phone is already more than a year old, many apps and live tiles are set, or if some technical preview is installed - for most of these, just restart your phone;
2. Hardware failure - certain phones are known to have malfunctioning screens, which can impede in the normal operation of the phone (since the fingers may not be always detected accurately); the solution would be to have the screen checked and repaired if needed in a service center
3. Software failure - especially for technical preview; the solution may be to perform a recovery

Once in a while, my old phone wouldn't allow me to unlock the phone, the touchscreen wouldn't respond. I'd reset the phone by holding the power button and volume down for 10 seconds. The phone would reboot and work fine.
