Why does Outlook run in the background most of the time?

I mean, as far as I know, I don't have an Outlook app installed, so I don't know how to edit its usage. Battery Saver, yeah, but there seems to be some apps where I can't edit their usage - i.e. the Store has the option "Allow app to run in the background", Outlook and People don't - and these two seem to be in use in the background the most (66.9% and 8.9%, respectively).

Since I can't do anything about them, I just want to know, are there important processes that need Outlook (or People) running in the background? Do they eat up my battery? And where can I find Outlook when searching for it in my phone doesn't even turn up results?

Outlook is your email app. If you had renamed your email account, that's what you need to lookup in the apps list. :) The reason why it's running in the background all the time (when in fact it's not the app that's running, but just a small agent) might possibly be because of the synchronization interval you've configured in your emails settings.
Tbh, neither the email nor the people app consume much power, even if it's indicated that they're running all the time.
