Why does the sound not work anymore

Everytime i use Skype, the laptop freezes and I have to shut it down. This time, the same thing happened but when I turned it on again, the sound no longer worked and my laptop couldn't connect to the Internet no matter how many times I tried troubleshoot. Help??

what OS version are you on? Try a restart again and check if there any issues with the wifi drivers in device manager
