Why does Windows Phone play jingle when I set it down?

I have a Lumia 950, and if I set it down with the screen facing up and the lock screen displayed, the phone plays an audible 4 second jingle. This is incredibly annoying, because I pick up my phone to look at the time, etc and then when I set the phone back down it plays this long ringtone jingle for no apparent reason. I don't want to have to mute my ringer to avoid this. Is there any other way to turn off this "feature"?

This is bizarre. If it is a feature, I am hearing for the first time. Are you an Insider?

The only time I hear a sound when I put it down is when it's put on a Qi charger.

NFC tag in the area?

Thanks so much, all who responded! It does seem to be the NFC pairing notification. I turned all the NFC options off the problem has gone away. After realizing this, I think what's happening is the phone is picking up a card in my wallet with a chip (that's nearby in my pocket). It thinks I'm trying to "Tap to share".

Thanks again for helping me get to the bottom of this!
