Why doesn't Microsoft advertise Windows Phone?

Can you tell me WC why the advertising for windows phone is so poor and infrequent? Both Apple and Samsung literally show the phone in use therefore showing usability and its assets. The ads are of close ups of the screens in action, people can then picture themselves using those phones. Why doesn't WP do this? This is very strange that it doesn't. Its an original start screen, not rows of icons, with most of the major apps. Now with the action centre and folder tiles and the great lock screens and start screen backgrounds they could make it look great!!?? Its a quick fluid system they should be selling it for what it is. It just don't ge try the marketing at all.can someone explain the logic behind what they're doing
