Why don't I have sound after the update?

No sound after update

After the last update on windows 10, sound dont work on my computer... No sound in programs, videos, music or system. Sounds works just in Chrome. Please help

I don't have sound at all! Not a beep comes through the speakers, nor throught the headphones. And since the update is quite recent, there aren't many tutorials on youtube that can help me. Plus, the fact that I know absolutely nothing about computers makes it even harder for me to fix it. :crying:
Also, there is a red cross on my volume icon and when I click it, a window appears that says 'checking for solutions' but then no solutions are found.

Go to your PC manufactures site and download drivers for it. They may have updated them.

Type in "device manager" in search, find "audio" and see what driver version you're on, then go to OEM site.

Troubleshoot that "exclamation" point you see on the list. Right click it, then troubleshoot.
Let me know if it says anything.
