Why don't some apps work after updating my phone?

Some apps dont work after updating my phone.

Some apps like files, wowphoto free and slow camera dont work after updating my windows 8.1 phone. There icons appear in a faded way. I can reinstall those apps but for that i have to uninstall them first. I kept some photos password protected inside wowphotos. So if i uninstall the app they will also be deleted. Tell me a way to solve this.
