Battery draining quickly in Lumia 1520

I recently bought a Red Lumia 1520 a couple of weeks ago. Since then I have experienced a high draining rate of my battery. In battery saver it says the battery life is around 15 hours even at 100%. I checked with my friends Lumia 1520 and his one says around 1 day and 10 hours even at around 80%. I have tried soft resets and hard resets. Yet the problem is still there. I use WhatsApp, facebook, instagram(6tag), snapchat(6snap) and IE on a daily basis. Sometimes I play games like FIFA 15 and ASPHALT 8. Is there anything I could do to fix this issue? Sometimes the phone gets heated on the back just above the camera. One of the main reasons I bought this phone is because of its battery life and I love this phone. Is this a software issue? Or a hardware defect? By any chance do I have to replace the batter?( can I even do that?). Your help will be much appreciated.:)

It's software. I had an issue similar to you after an update. A factory reset fixed that issue. On my other windows phone I had to restore using Nokia Recovery Tool. Either way the fix is easy. 😊

You have to go to battery saver and make sure no background tasks are running. This is a massive killer. Make sure WiFi is off when your out and also locations if your not using the maps. These will make a huge difference

Re: Battery draining quickly in Lumia 1520

My WiFi is always on... So is my Location, Cortana, etc. The only thing I limit is my email; I have all accounts set to manual refresh as I don't like all the blasted notifications that come with push email. Battery Saver is turned OFF.

My 1520.3 gives me phenomenal battery life. I just went 2 1/2 days without charging and when I did plug in I still had 28%.

The OP is having a software glitch, IMHO, and blue1k is correct - they need to do a reset.

Re: Battery draining quickly in Lumia 1520

To be honest I hard reseted mine a few times so I guess that may have helped. I only have WiFi on when I am indoors (no point having it on while travelling) and I only turn location on when I need it like maps and such. All that makes a difference to make the battery last. I unplugged my phone at 8am and by 5pm I still had 77% battery left
