Why is my phone constantly updating?

my lumia 520 keeps on updaten but doesnt change from windows phone 8.0 to 8.1 it has updated for the third tiome but no change is seen

If you have a SD card inserted...

Safely eject the card (software method via settings), power down, remove the card. Boot back up and try the update again.
