Why is my screen display so white it's blinding?

I have thought about a dark theme but after seeing the contrast from dark to white my eyes actually hurt. Can I dull the white some?

Brightness option in the settings. Or Display settings.

You can set your brightness to predefined 4 levels, low, mid, high and automatic. Also you can go to Settings -> Extras -> Display, there you have 'Brightness profile' and 'Color profile' menu. Adjust them as you wish.
