This is a problem I've been stuck with for several weeks now. A bit of Googling shows this apparently is not an isolated incident, and yet Microsoft still hasn't released a patch for it. :eck:

Though the problem seems to pop up without rhyme or reason, I've found the only way to "fix" it is to restart into safe mode, and then again into regular boot up. I have read several articles/postings about editing code, but even these don't seem to be 100% effective or permanent fixes.

Any word on a patch to fix this?
