Why is OneDrive duplicating my shared files on the home screen?

I've looked around the forum a bit, and found quite similar issues with other people aswell.
I'm using OneDrive for business, and it's important that we keep a certain structure, or file tree where we, or I, organize files, and grant certain accesses to subfolders, and files. Now, the problem is, when I do either of the last one, the folders or files get duplicated on the home screen (seen on co-workers' OneDrive). When I add a file to a subfolder, it gets placed there, and also on the home screen under shared files. Is there something that I should be doing otherwise, or is it supposed to be like that?
It's very annoying to see files get mixed up on home screen.
