Why is there no 911 application on the Band?

Why there is no 911 application in the Band.

I am 73 years young and do fast walking for 4 1/2 miles every day, I will like to be able to call 911 if an emergency occurs while I am walking and since the Band has a GPS the emergency unit will be able to find me and help. It will be real good if this application was available in all the bands to help in case of emergency. This will be good advertising for the Microsoft Band.

There's a trade off for every feature you add. More cost, more weight, more bulk, more battery usage, etc. Personally, the trade off isn't worth it for me.

It is a good idea... Just isn't on the band.

The function you are looking for is Beacon. There are many personal Beacon devices out there. personal beacon - Bing

Keep in mind that the Band can't do anything like that without your phone being in Bluetooth range. If you're out walking, you'd have to have your phone with you. Presumably your phone has GPS as well and is already set up to work with 911 to get that information to them.
