Why is Whatsapp not opening?

I'm trying to go on my whatsapp account, but the page is stuck on the 'whatsapp has expired, please update' page and although I have updated, the page is still not going away and I can't open whatsapp?

kindly share what device you are using and on what OS version

You've tried updating whatsapp from store?
Can you also restart your phone and try again?
