Clipboard and predictive text not working properly
I have an HTC 8X from Verizon, currently running WP8 with latest software updates applied. Not sure exactly when, but recently, clipboard functions (cut, copy, and paste) and predictive text have stopped working properly.
When I select text to copy, the copy icon displays and all appears to work as normal. When I go to paste the copied text into a text field, the paste icon appears as normal, and when I click the paste icon it appears to perform the operation but nothing is pasted.
Similar problem with predictive text. As I'm typing text into a text message or any other app that implements predictive text, when I select the predictive word from the available choices, the keyboard disappears and the word that I have selected is not inserted.
My guess is that predictive text uses the clipboard and the problems are related. In both cases (copy/paste and predictive text word insertion), it appears that an empty string followed by a carriage return is inserted.
I called HTC support and they had me perform Settings> About> Reset Your Phone. I went through that procedure and the problem still exists.
Any ideas where to start looking?
