Why isn't my Nokia Lumia 520 screen responding?

Nokia lumia 520 screen not responding

My nokia lumia 520 screen does not respond and when it turns on it comes up with a critical update but I cannot click on anything so it eventually turns off. I have tried a soft reset but it does not work and I can not do a hard reset as I have important information saved on my phone. What do I do?

I would recommend trying to plug the phone into a PC USB port to see if you can access your files and back them up that way.

You can try a hard reset after that, but there are no guarantees. It is possible that the touch screen has been damaged.
