Why isn't my phone starting?

phone is not starting

I opened an application today which i daily use normally, screen of my lumia 520 became black just like the switched off phone screen.And now it is not starting. still black screen. no indication no power

Sounds to me that the OS just crashed.
Try the good old soft reset. Just hold volume down and the power button at the same time until your device vibrates. This may take about 10 seconds or so. See if it brings your phone back to life. Don't be afraid, you're not going to lose any of your precious apps or data.

Keep the power button pressed until you feel the phone buzz (20 secs or so). The phone should then reboot (if there is sufficient battery charge)
