Why my Lumia's battery is not charging properly?

I use my Microsoft Lumia 532 for music.. I bought it from snapdeal 4 months back..
However, I've been having issues with this device, which is only 4 months old. Charging the phone has become a "cross your fingers and hope it works" affair, seeing as some nights the phone actually continues to die on the charger and other nights there are no issues.
Notes: I haven't replaced the battery on this device. (Original Battery and Charger from Microsoft)
The device is only 4 months old.
The charger is a little loose in the socket and the phone constantly beeps while charging, telling me I just plugged the charger in when it's been plugged in for hours
During use charging just halts, and sometimes the phone slowly dies even on the charger.

First try another charger known to work.

Your charger port may be dying prematurely and may need service. If its still under warranty, that's something you could probably claim.

Using compressed air to clean the port may work, also figuring out what position is best for reliable charging may be a suitable Band-Aid solution.
