Why no Trophy accessory love?

First off, I'm a new member both to wpcentral AND windows phone in general! I've had more phones than one can imagine, and coming from the iPhone 4, I found myself becoming increasingly more intrigued by the Trophy and windows phone OS. I finally bought one and I have to say...this OS is BY FAR beyond ANY OS I've come across. I've had them all...

The ease of use, UI, and social connectivity is truly terrific. I'm so stunned that windows OS is not more popular or selling more! My iPhone is collecting DUST.

My question is with regards to trophy accessories. VERIZON HAS NONE. WHY?!? I was told it's because the trophy wasn't selling well, so they took things off the shelf. I was also told that this store I was at only sold about 10 TOTAL since it dropped. The guy at Verizon was speaking of the phone like it was a Motorola v60 in 2011 -- I was APPAULED.

Why would Verizon do this? ESPECIALLY since mango has been such a hit, and sales HAVE increased. I'm just a bit confused...

So the only bet I have is buying a case online?

Yeah, accessories for windows phones are very hard to come by - I buy mine online, and there aren't even that many for a popular phone like the Focus (try finding a dock or more than one car accessory).

I am right there with you. If I had relied on Verizon, I would not own the Trophy and experienced this awesome OS. I am floored on how much better I like WP7 than Android. Haven't had a force close yet!

Plus the Trophy proves that it's not all about specs. It's about software too and optimizing it. The Trophy may not have the best specs but it is FAST and smooth.

Yeah the lack of accessories is a bummer. I could see some people turning away because of that. As for the Trophy not selling, when I got my 2 (one for me and one for my fiancee) We had to check with 3 stores to find one. The first we went to was out of them. The salesman found 2 at another store, and called them to hold them, but they were selling one at the time. Finally he found 2 at another store about 15 miles away. To me that would seem that they were selling (or they didn't have a good supply).

I feel your pain, maybe they didnt think WP would make it through year one

There are some Trophy accessories (big seller in Europe) but only available online. I think this next round of WPs will see some additional accessories as OEMs gain more confidence in the platform.

I think you're right. I really expect to see more accessories with the next round of WP's. I paid $25 for a thin plastic cover for my Trophy at the Microsoft store. It was all they had and it certainly isn't worth $25
