Why not instead of these "April Update", "Spring Creator's Update" and other titles...

I personally wish Microsoft would stop using the "Spring Creator's Update" and "April Update" things, and instead, refer to it as Version 1803, 1810, etc OR call it Windows 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, etc, though that might seem very similar to MacOS.

Thoughts on either naming scheme?

Both have their uses and I think its fine as is. I don't agree with "Spring Creator's Update" (I prefer April Update or better yet, April 2018) but having an easier name can help.

Some people might know their Mac runs macOS Sierra but not know it's 10.12. The build numbers like 1803 are precise but I don't think it'll help the typical end-user.
