Why skype not working in my phone Nokia Lumia 625 8.1

Because Skype stopped working on older devices that run 8 and 8.1 several months ago.

The reason for this is that Skype has moved away from P2P (Peer to peer) onto a cloud based system and the older apps just don't handle it.
