Why there is no whatsapp push notifications?

[Windows Central Question]

I recently bought a lumia 640 with windows phone 8.1 update 2 and i noticed that there's no notification for whatsapp. I turned the internet upside down trying to find an answer and i didn't... When i close whatsapp a message appears saying there is a notification problem and asking me to restart my phone. Plz help!!!

Ps: My brother has a windows phone 8.1 without the update and he receives notifications just fine (maybe is the update)

Ps2: Sorry for my english i'm from Brazil.

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the app?

If you changed region/time and it doesn't match with your number it happens. You need your local number region/time. Send then reinstall

just did what you said and it didn't work, still getting no notifications. I think i'll downgrade back to 8.1 without the update and see if it works

Guys just solved the problem !!! Just went to: Settings > Celular + SIM > Data connection > OFF. and it worked!!! notifications are back on, hope that help you guys too

Sounds good. Now, when the Cellular's data connection off, how am I supposed to get notifications when there's no WiFi?
