Why won't my Microsoft Wi.fi mouse work with Windows 10

I recently had my laptop upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Now my fairly new Microsoft Wi.fi mouse refuses to work. I changed the battery, but to no avail. As I have trouble using the touchpad mouse, I have resorted to using an old Dell wired mouse, which is a bit 'stop and start'. Help!

The mouse doesn't connect to the laptop via WiFi, it connects via Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on in settings (you can access it quickly from the action center). It could be a case that your Bluetooth radio isn't installed from the Win10 update and you may need to download and install drivers.
