Why won't my mouse pad on my laptop work with windows 10?

My mouse pad won't work since I have upgraded to windows 10. I have to use a wireless mouse for it. Also I can't figure out why when I hook my laptop to the TV via "VGA" cord it won't display on the tv....? It worked fine before the upgrade. My laptop doesn't have an hd hook up on it so that is the only way I know how to hook it to my tv. Does anyone know how to fix these problems? If not I'm going to have to downgrade back to windows 7.
