Why wont my nokia turn on

I plugged my phone in so it could charge and I tried to turn it on a while ago and it will vibrate but the screen wont turn on

Usually that happens when your phone's battery is completely run down and it will take sometime to power back on.

My L920 exhibit's this behaviour, I don't take it with me when I'm away so when I come back it's usually pretty much in a coma for awhile then it turns on. The longest was about 30 minutes when plugged in but that was with a rather slow, slow, slow charger.

Definitely sounds like a battery issue. Did the phone actually turn on or not?
