Wifi and Signal strength icon?

Hello,

I am trying to save data by using Wifi.

Should I still see the signal strength icon and the Wifi icon? Or do I have to turn off my data connection?

I thought with Wifi - I would only see the wifi connection. Wifi is turned on and it says I am connected.

There is no way I would be using Wifi AND my data plan, is there?

Check if Settings > Cellular + Sim > For limited Wifi connectivity ---- this is set to not use cellular data. if your Wifi quality drops, it will auto use your cellular data if this is allowed.

The signal strength icon will always show. If wifi is being used as the internet connection, you'll see the wifi strength icon. If cellular data is being used, you'll see the connection type symbol instead of the wifi symbol, like 3G, 4G, LTE, etc. As long as you don't see the connection type directly next to the signal strength icon, then you shouldn't be using data.
