WiFi not connecting

Last week I had a corrupted file of some sort which resulted in 2 hard resets on two different days. It looks like I got the problem solved and my TP2 and I are on speaking terms again. However, I turned on the WiFi, which came up nicely, then selected my home network, reentered my passkey and it refused to connect. It said it was connecting but it never was able to connect. I tried again at work with the settings for there and same thing. It indicated it was connecting but nothing!! Mind you, I hardly use WiFi at all. I have Sprint unlimited data plan and connection here in Phoenix is excellent. I just wanted to use it to see how well it worked. Prior to my hard resets I used WiFi on my TP2 and it connected right up. Any ideas what up wit dat??
Some info that may help. When I had my problem requiring hard resets I tried soft resets first of course and after cycling through and coming back to the "Today" screen, my device would switch to a "Device Management" screen I have never seen before. It was trying to establish a bluetooth connection, I believe, which made no sense to me. I cancelled that screen and the soft reset completed. That may be my problem but I can not find that "Device Management" tool anywhere. As always, I appreciate any help.:confused:

More Info

Had to hard reset today AGAIN :mad::mad:. When reset done, device management screen popped up again. Message said "Hands Free Activation" in progress. I dont know WTF is going on with my device. Haven't made any changes for at least a month. Problems started when I was trying to set up device as a modem. It never worked and then I started having problems.
I was wondering if it is possible to overcharge your battery. I use my TP2 all day then leave it plugged into wall outlet all night. Even from a dead battery it takes only about 2 hours max to get a green light. At night it may sit on charge for 4 or 5 hours after the green light. Hope someone can help. Driving me crazy.
The EVO phone at Sprint (Got one for my son) is looking real good :thumbsup:

The EVO does like nice, but I'll wait and see what comes out the next few months. I don't want to pay Sprint's "4G tax" at $10/month and I need a global phone. Verizon should have some interesting releases by the end of the year.

Back to your questions; no, you cannot overcharge the battery using the HTC supplied charger and the phone to charge with. I leave mine plugged in every night as well. As for WiFi, I've had a similar problem. It drove me nuts the first time until I figured it out. For some reason, the device assigned a static IP to the WiFi configuration. I changed it back to dynamic and it was fine. This has happened 2 or 3 times to me.

Thanks for responses. I have WiFi back but still having problem with screen freeze, which is starting to feel like brain freeze (after eating really cold ice cream).:eek::eek: When I do soft reset, I still get the "Hands Free Activation" screen. I just cancel it and the reset finishes. Eveything works fine for most of the day then wham, more freeze. I've hard reset at least 10 times in the last week or so. Very frustrated with the device right now. I am going to Sprint today and have them check if the hardware may be AFU. I can't work with it the way it is. I really like the TP2 and up until trying to use it as a modem it was virtually trouble free. I'm not going to jump to the EVO phone, just keeping it on the radar screen for now. I'm sure it got it's little quirks too. When the TP2 works right it is a workhorse. Getting a lot more comfortable with Opera instead of IE, Outlook 2010 Mobile works great and Windows media is good too. My concern is having it freeze up during one of my appointments when I am sitting with clients doing business applications. Our apps for my business are all on the phone (card). By the end of the year we should be doing everything wirelessly so won't have to worry about losing info on a locked up device.
I'll let you know if Sprint finds anything. Thanks again

Fixed by Sprint

It looks like my TP2 is back to it's winning ways again. Went to Sprint today and told my story. They took it in the back and about 45 minutes later it was ready to go. It seems that when I tried to use the phone as a modem (I don't have a plan for that!!) and it failed to connect, the phone kept trying to find a connection. The modem app was running in the background causing my freeze problems. Even after the reset it was still seeking a connection. Sprint told me with 6.5 it sometimes happens. They did a hard reset and flashed the ROM. All seems well now and it is back operating at speeds I was used to. I hadn't really noticed how slow it was responding cause I was focused on other issues. Lets hope it stay this way:D:D

I am hoping my problem is solved :) Took TP2 back to Spint on Friday with same problems. They determined it was a hardware problem and ordered me a new phone. It came in today and I am using it now. Seems to be OK. fingers crossed, no more freezes.
