WiFi won't turn on at all

Hello. I'm having a problem with WiFi: when I used to turn it on, it would show those loading dots at the top of the screen and then turns the wifi on and shows if there's any connection available. But now, it instantly goes ''on'' and won't show anything even though there are connections (other devices see them). And if I go back, it says that the WiFi is off. So basically, it's broken, and I looked but I haven't found anyone else having the same issue. I have updated OS to the latest version, but it worked after an update for some time so I don't think the update messed it up.
I'm really hoping I can sort it out and not having to reset the phone. Any ideas?

Try soft resetting Your phone by holding the Power button for 10 seconds If that don't help, try hard reset, but be aware, that will delete your phone! Make backup first.

I just got my LG C900 Quantum when I switched carriers. I didn't want to sign a contract for a phone that came out 5 months ago (like the 920) so I brought my own phone. Wifi is a HUGE problem on my phone. I've been planning to sign a contract once the next Nokia WP flagship comes out but if it i as much a problem for WP8 with wifi, I won't go WinPhone. That makes me sad, but the wifi problems I'm having are a dealbreaker.

same problem here, on my optimus 7 wifi seems to turn on but can't find any network and if I go back to settings screen wifi is described as turn off. tried soft reset, and I can add my phone has just come back from a fix from lg due to reboot problem.

after hard reset (cold boot) the problem is still there

i have the same problem pff it started just 2 days ago without no reason :S i was using wifi connection fine and then suddenly turned off :S i tried both reset and nothing. Please somebody help pff!!!
