Windows 1.0 launched 35 years ago today. Two years after its announcement, Windows 1.0 started shipping on November 20, 1985. The world of Windows has changed quite a bit since then, but the operating system's launch was a major step in personal computing.

Never got into windows until xp was released. It was just so much faster to type DOS commands. I always called windows the lazy mans operating system mainly because I felt those who used it were too lazy to learn DOS.
 
I remember us all excitedly gathering round while someone installed this off six (I think?) floppies. :)
