Windows 10 bugs on Lumia 1020 :-(

Hello everybody,
Newbe here, so do move the post to the right place, mods.
I upgraded to windows 10 on my Lumia 1020 (RM-875_euro1_211) a few days ago through the windows insider app most probably on 8 or 9-Feb-2016. I don't remember the build/version of the Windows 10 I installed, because the insider app would give only the latest version of the windows 10.

I had a two day suffering with these troubles.
- It was draining battery like crazy. I had to charge it 4 times in 6 hours and the phone would drain battery even in standby and aeroplane mode. It was draining 3-4% per minute even in idle mode with even glance screen off.
- I did lose all my backup which I couldn't recover from one drive even after a hard reset.
- I also had problems with focussing/autofocus in both photo and video modes, the lumia camera app was available but seemed to have deteriorated the camera software.
- I couldn't chose my primary notifications. Everytime I tried to replace the "screen rotation lock" or the "wifi" with some other shortcut (e.g aeroplane mode, bluetooth etc.), the phone would freeze for a second and then go back to start screen.
- The hotspot/ internet sharing app was unable to launch at all.
- The skype+messaging messed up all the text messages and emails etc.
- The phone was a bit slow to respond than Windows 8.1.

Now there were some real nice goodies in the windows 10. e.g:
- Better keyboards.
- Better weather app.
- Better web browser.
- Better file manager.
- Better MS Office.
- and some other cool goodies etc.

But ultimately the phone drained the battery too fast and it rendered the phone less "mobile". I was literally tethered to the charger plug for two long days and a degraded camera did p*ss me off a lot, so I reverted back to Windows 8.1 on the next day. Did anyone else have similar problems or its just unlucky me? Anyone got some way around the glitches?
Mods, can anyone suggest to some way to keep the camera quality and battery life "with" a windows 10 upgrade on Lumia 1020. I'd surely upgrade if there is a solution and I'd obviously grateful for the help. Hope some expert does get to see my post.
Cheers,

Shah

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. The fast ring isn't for everyone but the issues you're describing aren't being reported daily or at least not at the same time or by the same user. Since you updated a new build version was released. The good news is that the build is currently available for the slow ring, so you could try to test that one out :)

It is best to have at least two phones when messing with alpha/beta software as it can be very unstable. Try the slow ring with the latest build and let us know how it goes.

For the battery issues, check the "battery use" section (settings > battery saver). That could give you an idea of what or which apps are draining the battery so fast.

After updating, make sure "everything" is updated through the store, usually there are quite a few updates, then hard reset before restoring from backup, then check again for updates. Then make sure you are signed out of Skype (both the app and video) since now they are integrated with messaging .
I know from past experience you just want to dive right in to windows 10, but make sure EVERYTHING is updated (as many apps need and update and are different), it does take a few days to settle down, a few soft resets helps it settle down and get it's brain together.
For some odd reason, I have also found turning the phone off for a few hours really helps, just like a laptop, they benefit from being turned off every now and then, take the time out to actually sleep, or spend time without being disturbed, just like humans, I don't think we are meant to function without time to "turn off" or get some sleep

I updated my 877 from 8.1 the other day and everything worked fine without the hard reset. I get great battery life, everything works as it should. It spent the better part of 2 hrs updating apps to w10 etc...but now has settled down nicely. Took it off charge yesterday morning at 7am, used it as I normally would, and at 12pm I was at 93% battery. At the end of the day at 8:30 I was still at 71%.....I am supremely happy with the latest update.

yes ,,same problems like you,,,,with the addition of the screen flicker when the phone reproduce music in the stream mode by the cell network,,,other issue ,when i answer any phone call, the phone cut the music playback and not resume the music again after you made a music skip theme
