Windows 10 build 15042 for desktop many duplicate devices

All the newer Windows 10 builds including Windows 10 build 15042 for desktop install so many duplicate devices that my system runs out of resources and cannot install the needed devices. I tried to delete the duplicates to free up resources, but after rebooting Windows reinstalls them. The last build that works for me is 14986. All the Windows 10 insider builds before 14986 have also worked fine.

Also tried a clean installation of 15002 and had the same problem.

Any ideas?

Shaheen,

Thanks for the information. I followed the instructions to remove the old files and I'm trying 15042 again. Hope it works, if not I'll need to do another clean install with the 14986 ISO. No easy rollback with the old files removed.

After I went back to 14986 everything worked fine. So then I tried installing 15002 ISO with the disk formatted and that did not work because of duplicate devices.

Apparently the Windows 10 install/update process after 14986 no longer works with the test machine I've been using from the very start of the Microsoft Insider program. Strange! That will be a big problem for Microsoft later this year when there are a zillion computers around the world that can no longer run Windows 10!!

Nor 15063. :-( Formatted the hard drive and installed from ISO. Rolled it back to Windows 7 and I guess it will stay that way.
