windows 10 looks as a rock solid operating system. it will be made to run on every possible device as said by Microsoft. here are my queries?


when os update arrives for windows 10 will it be ine update for all operating devices running 10.


windows phone as the most secured platform, will Microsoft be able to fight the viruses which can come to wp with windows 10 when its well established?

If your talking Windows 10 for PCs, it will be installed like any other Windows version (if your running 7 or 8 it should be a smooth upgrade)

If your talking about Windows Phone 10 (Windows 10 for phone), According to Microsoft, yes but, there might be limits. A lot of this will depend on carrier support, so if your carrier does not decide to upgrade your device, you might be out of luck for an official update.

The other side is, if you get into the Dev program, you should be able to get the update with out the carrier. Microsoft will release the preview long before the carriers do, if they do. So, if you want it as soon as it's available, that might be your option to take. The only problem on this side, is it does not contain firmware, so hardware updates and fixes are not part of the preview program.

This is clearly said on other parts of this site, with a little searching you could of found this answer.

A few clarifications:
1) Windows 10 is a beta and not rock solid by any stretch of the imagination. Windows 10 as a general release product is still many months off.
2) Windows 10 will not run on all devices. That is a misunderstanding which continues to be perpetuated largely due to the fact people don't fully grasp how OSs work. The basic underlying core and kernel will run across platforms but the mobile OS will be a subset of the larger OS. This amounts to a common user experience and a shared app store. If it really was the same OS across platforms, you could expect to run Office 365 (full version) on a phone or Xbox and that is not ever happening.
3) All of this means the question regarding viruses is no more of a concern with Windows 10 than previous versions when it comes to mobile devices not running the x86 version of Windows.
4) As to release schedules, Windows 10 and the phone version are not even on the same development timeline so it is highly unlikely they will be released at the same time.

Actually, if you want to just direct someone to links you might consider doing it. As it stands, what you have said is not clearly stated on this site - you are interpreting what has been said here (and elsewhere) and even much of that is still someone else's interpretation of Microsoft's plans. How well (or smoothly) a PC upgrade will go is not known. It could be as simple as an inline upgrade or something as complicated as a clean reinstall. This remains to be seen and I can assure you that regardless of what might be said today Microsoft will make the final decision on how to decide months from now after they test the upgrade under various scenarios. Microsoft has also been pretty clear that Windows 10 upgrades will be available for all Windows 8.X Lumias.
