Hello everybody, lately my Windows 10 locks after 2 minutes idle time, regardless of the power settings. I even asked Windows to never shut the screen off, and it ignores me. This is utterly annoying. Any idea?

Hi While waiting for @chintan to reply, how do you have your advanced power setting optioned? I'm a little confused about the term "Windows 10 locks" You might try this!

Press Windows + X, and select the option Control Panel.
Click on the Power Options icon.
Click on Change advanced power settings.
Select the option “Restore default settings for this plan”.

Hi You are very welcome. Wow if a reset failed to fix your issue, that usually means a hardware problem IMHO. The term "locks" confuses me. Wondering if this issue would happen in the safe mode. Try changing sleep options! I have mine set to never sleep. I hate the sleep option. You might try setting power options back to default settings. When you reset, it usually saves your settings, so try setting your power options to default.

Yes, I have the same problem. It is very annoying. I have been Googling the problem for a few days and none of the fixes work. I do know, from the computer log, that it is the Sleep function that is causing it, and the reason is because the computer is idle. All of my power and screen saver boxes are checked so that it NEVER goes to sleep, but none of that works. I also tried regedit, with no luck. I have an online exam coming up and need this to be fixed, otherwise it will cause me to go overtime, because I need to keep logging on if the computer is idle for 3 minutes.

Oh and resetting to default does not work. Plus I have a feeling this is not a hardware problem since more than one of us all of a sudden have hardware problems.

Hi You might open task manager and see if there's a program not responding. Not sure what's causing your issue, but you might give the task manager a look!
To close a program that's frozen on Windows:

Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to directly open the Task Manager.
In the Applications tab, click on the program that's not responding (the status will say "Not Responding") and then click the End Task button.
In the new dialog box that appears, click End Task to close the application.

Hi My searching says this might be a sleep setting issue. Here's how I have mine set.
