Have just bought a new Windows 10 Laptop and regardless of which cable i use (have used same cable on old laptop and has worked) the mobiles are not showing in windows explorer. Would like to transfer pictures etc onto the laptop but cant do this as the mobile doesnt show in the list of devices

How can I access my Android files from PC?

Move files by USB
1. Unlock your Android device. With a USB cable, connect your device to your computer.
On your device, tap the "USB for..." notification.
2. Select Transfer files.

A file transfer window will open on your computer. Use it to drag files.
When you're done, eject your device from Windows.
Unplug the USB cable.

How do I get my computer to recognize my phone?

To do that follow these steps:

1. On your Android device open Settings and go to Storage.
2. Tap the more icon in the top right corner and choose USB computer connection.
3. From the list of options select Media device (MTP).
4. Connect your Android device to your computer, and it should be recognized.
